IGG have been crowned winners of the Romanian Esport Championship, following a victory over TeG in the grand final.
While the league was renamed prior to the start of this season, previously known as PGL and now known as the Romanian Esport Championship, it was still the same concept, the best of Romania fighting to reach the season LAN finals to compete for cash prizes.
Unlike previous season, this season saw teams from the top of the tables in divisions A,B and C duke it out together at the season LAN finals. Just like previous season, the season finale took place at Forte Gamers in Constanta, Romania.
With the tournament progressing, post the group stage, the biggest clash took place in the upper-bracket when the top two teams from division A, namely TeG and IGG faced off. IGG were able to send TeG to the lower-bracket, which gave them a clear advantage going into the grand final.
TeG gained access to a rematch against IGG, winning the consolidation final against neXtPlease!.
The final, where TeG would need two maps to win overall, started on de_train, with IGG on the CT side. From the CT side, IGG continued to have the upper hand against TeG, claiming a 11-4 lead at half-time. When sides swapped, TeG were only able to squeeze in a single round, before IGG claimed five to win 16-5 and the Romanian Esports Championship.
